Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Malaysia was established in February 1990 as a non-profit organisation with the mission to create, find and support programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children and their families in Malaysia. It is one of more than 300 RMHC Chapters worldwide which aims to positively impact young lives in the areas of Health, Education and Welfare.
Since its establishment in 1990, RMHC has expanded reach to help sick and underprivileged children through its 4 core programs, which to date have benefited more than 30,000 children and their families in Malaysia.
Ronald McDonald House provides a Home-Away-From-Home temporary accommodations & facilities to the families whilst the children receive treatment in the Hospital.
Ronald McDonald Sensory Room helps children with special needs and learning disabilities develop cognitive skills, build self-confidence and respond better to therapy.
Gift of Smile program is in partnership with Pantai Hospital KL and selected public hospitals to finance corrective surgeries for children born with cleft lip and palate.
RMHC Medical Grant gives assistance to selected children who are battling illnesses through recommendations by the Hospitals to aid in the diagnostic, prevention or treatment of the illness.
RMHC Malaysia collaborates with the Ministry of Education and McDonald’s Malaysia to provide Back to School Pack annually to urban poor primary school students. The Pack consist of school bag, uniform, shoes & socks. Since 2017, 23,000 students across Malaysia have benefited from this program.
Donations to Welfare Homes and Orphanages are given out annually through festive-giving, McDonald Store Grand Opening, special events, natural disaster relief etc.
